Curious about the whole pottery-making process? Join me for three private, beginner-friendly visits to explore wheel throwing, hand sculpting and glazing. You’ll follow your pieces from soft clay to finished pottery, with guidance at every stage.

What you’ll make

Session 1 — Wheel throwing: learn to shape your project on the pottery wheel.
Session 2 — Hand sculpting: shape and decorate clay using stamps, textures and handbuilding techniques.
Session 3 — Glazing: add colour and food-safe glaze to your projects.

Three private sessions with individual instruction
Clay, tools, decorating materials and glazes
Two to three projects made on the wheel and by hand
Kiln firing to finish your pottery

The listed package price is for one person.

Your finished pottery

The sessions take place on three separate dates over several weeks, allowing time for drying and firing. A sample schedule is wheel throwing in week one, hand sculpting in week two and glazing in week five. We’ll arrange your dates together and discuss collection after the final firing.

Your studio visit

Private home garage studio in Surrey, BC, near Woodward Hills Elementary and Highway 10 / King George Boulevard. The address is shared when your booking is confirmed.
Workshops are offered mostly on weekends, with some weekday evenings available. Please inquire about specific dates and times. Visits are by appointment.
A handwashing facility is available. There is no public washroom on site, so please plan ahead.
Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting clay on, bring an apron if you have one, and tie back long hair.
