POTTERY MUG MAKING - HAND SCULPT ONLY

Make a mug that feels like your own. Join me for a private handbuilding workshop where you’ll shape a mug or pint cup and decorate it with textures and stamps. This experience uses hand-sculpting techniques rather than the pottery wheel, and no experience is needed.

What you’ll make

Learn to shape clay by hand, join the pieces and create a handle for your mug. Choose from textures and stamps such as flowers, animals, leaves, geometric patterns and more to make it personal. For pair and group options, please confirm the session timing when booking.

What’s included

• Step-by-step handbuilding instruction and guidance from me
• Approximately 500 g of clay for your mug, plus tools, textures and stamps
• Finishing, food-safe glazing and two kiln firings after your visit
• One finished mug or pint cup per participant

Your finished pottery

I’ll finish, glaze and fire your mug after the workshop. It is usually ready for pickup approximately four weeks later. Your pottery cannot be taken home on the day; we’ll arrange collection once it’s ready.

Your studio visit

• Private home garage studio in Surrey, BC, near Woodward Hills Elementary and Highway 10 / King George Boulevard. The address is shared when your booking is confirmed.
• Workshops are offered mostly on weekends, with some weekday evenings available. Please inquire about specific dates and times. Visits are by appointment.
• A handwashing facility is available. There is no public washroom on site, so please plan ahead.
• Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting clay on, bring an apron if you have one, and tie back long hair.
